Welcome to Our School!

John Wilson Elementary School is a Pre-K to Grade 4 school located in the heart of Innisfail, Alberta and is part of Chinook’s Edge School Division. We are a dynamic primary school with a school population is approximately 400 students. We are a vibrant school culture that is focused on each child achieving highest levels of literacy and numeracy skills, enriching creativity through fabulous art and music programs, developing healthy bodies through daily physical education and instilling strong personal values through our school-wide Big 5 Values of being respectful, responsible, truthful and trustworthy, caring and cooperative.

Our registration is all completed online. If you need access to a computer, or any assistance filling out the form, please contact the office at 403-227-3292.

Registration Forms

Welcome to Kindergarten! 2025-2026

Beginning in January 6, 2025, Chinook’s Edge will be accepting Kindergarten registrations for the 2025-2026 school year. Children must turn five years old by December 31, 2025 to begin attending Kindergarten in the fall of 2025. Online registration will open at 9am.

PowerSchool and School Engage

PowerSchool SIS is our Student Information System. Each student has their own account and it follows them throughout their school career. Within this system you can find out information on attendance, account preferences. Also found in PowerSchool is SchoolEngage. At the beginning of the school year, you will get an email to go into SchoolEngage to fill out a form for School Demographics. This will update all your information to ensure we have the most up to date data on file. This is a yearly requirement from Alberta Education.

*Please note that if you have to make changes within the school year, and you have submitted your forms already you will need to contact the school to update us.

**If you do not have access to a computer, we have one available at the office for use. Forms generally take about 5 minutes per student.

Re-enrollment and Consent Form

In mid-August, Chinook’s Edge will be sending home your “Annual Re-Enrollment and Consents” for the school year. The form will need to be completed and submitted prior to the start of the school year.

The form will ensure your registration and certain consents for the upcoming school year.

The form contains a Walking field trip, Technology, and FOIP consents that must be completed every year before your child can participate in these activities.

This form is your responsibility to submit every year and/or as changes occur in relation to your child.

During the course of the year, if there are changes to the information previously submitted, please call the school at 403-227-3292.

In addition to the above, these re-enrollment forms are also used at the school level to:

1. Provide information to you for Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) purposes.

2. Provide information to Alberta Education for student enrollment purposes.

Student Demographics

Student demographics include all important information for each student in our school.

If you have had a change of address, phone number or any other information, please call the office at 403-227-3292 to request access to your form to make changes.

If you have yet to complete the original demographic update from August, or have NOT submitted a birth certificate, please call the office to arrange a time to come in and complete as soon as possible.
